WIP Wednesday - Golden Moment

Not much really going on in the writing department. Still waiting to hear from three magazines. However, I do have a bit of good news to report. Not so much with writing obviously but good news nonetheless.

But I'm not going to tell you yet. The official announcement hasn't been made yet. I'm going to make you wait until the point you want to claw your eyes out before making the big reveal. It isn't anything majorly huge but since its the only good news I have, I'm going to milk it for all it's worth.

I'll leave you with one tiny clue. I'm dragging out my mad scientist lab coat just for this. You do the math.

Never realized how gender biased the mad scientist profession was until now. This must change...

WooHoo!!!

Page-a-Day WC - 146 words

The lawsuit against Ann Crispin and Victoria Strauss, the principal operators of the Writer Beware website has been dismissed! They were being sued by Robert Fletcher and his company, Literary Agent Company for defamation, emotional distress and all that jazz because they posted warnings against their business practices. The suit was dismissed with prejudice March 18 by the Massachusetts Superior Court due to Fletcher's failure to respond to discovery or otherwise prosecute the lawsuit. Of course, that's not the end of it. Ann and Victoria are filing a motion against them for recovery of legal fees. I hope it's granted.

National Delurking Week - Day 4

I have some exciting news to share. You know the kind where you jump up and down wildly, screaming so loud people in Russia can hear you. I would love to leave in you suspense with a round of the guessing game but I can't hold it in any longer. I’m officially a paid author!!!

Ok so $7.12 isn’t exactly the kind of cash you want to throw on the bed and roll around in. I guess I'll have to save up for that moment but it’s something. I held the check in my hand and it hit me. My short story and poem were published and I got paid for it. It feels really nice or rather FREAKIN' AWESOME!!

All you non-writer people have to realize I've been writing since the fourth grade, learning and building up to this moment. This is a HUGE thing. Like Britney Spears getting sober huge.

I submitted a short story to Pseudopod last month, another paying market. Finger’s crossed lightning strikes twice in one month.
